Adam T. Holland, Mayor
“Celebrating yesterday but looking to tomorrow” is the theme of Oak Grove Mayor Adam T. Holland.
Holland began his fifth year of service to the Town of Oak Grove in July 2018 and has been an agent of change and progress since first taking office.
His priorities include the redevelopment of downtown, improvement of the municipal water and wastewater systems, and overall enhancement of the quality of life for the citizens of Oak Grove, La.
Holland’s administration has a strong emphasis on regionalism, as studies show that the success of the region has a direct impact on the success of each individual community therein. In that spirit, Holland is a 2016 graduate of the Delta Leadership Institute of the Delta Regional Authority and regularly shares the experiences he gained through that program with the other elected officials of Northeast Louisiana.
In November 2017 he graduated from the Kennedy School of Government's Authintic Leadership Academy at Harvard University.
Since taking office, Holland has secured over $750,000 in grants to improve the water and sewer systems, and to replace outdated police department patrol units and maintenance equipment for the town. He has also presided over a renewal of the downtown district where the business occupancy rate has increased by 25%.
Under Holland’s leadership, the Town of Oak Grove was the proud 2016 district winner of the Cleanest City Contest sponsored by the Louisiana Garden Club Federation.
Holland is the son of former Oak Grove Mayor Pro-Tem Jim Holland, who served on the Oak Grove City Council from 1990-2014, and Janice Rouse Holland of Kilbourne. He is a lifelong resident of the Town of Oak Grove, graduating from Oak Grove High School in 2000. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2006. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Administration program with an emphasis in Public Management at ULM with an anticipated graduation date of December 2018.
Along with serving as Mayor, Holland is the President of Holland Entertainment LLC, which operates the Historic Fiske Theatre in Oak Grove, the only remaining single screen theatre in Northeast Louisiana still in operation. He is also the Vice President of the Tri-State Independent Theatre Association, Oak Grove Lions Club 2nd Vice President, Treasurer of the Northeast Louisiana Economic Development Alliance, and the President of the Zeta Pi Alumni Association of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity at ULM.
Holland and his family are active members of the Church of Christ.
